GEORGIE
HILL
GEORGIE
HILL was born in Auckland and attended Elam School of Fine
Arts, graduating with a B.F.A in 2001. In 2003, she co-founded
the local art magazine FOXYMORON, which continues to be published
on an annual basis.
Hill was costume designer for the avante-garde film WOODENHEAD,
where she became known for her unique aesthetic and also played
the role of The Talented Anala. She was also costume designer
for the short film by director Helena Brooks, NOTHING SPECIAL,
which was in competition at the 2005 FESTIVAL DE CANNES.
Hill
has also worked as a stylist in the field of fashion advertising
and editorial and has returned to her interests in fine art
to produce new works. Her most recent show was a group exhibition
at the Ivan Anthony Gallery, Karangahape Road, Auckland.
Hill
was nominated for the IMAGES AND SOUND BEST TECHNICAL CONTRIBUTION
TO A DIGITAL FEATURE award at the AIR NEW ZEALAND FILM AND
TELEVISION AWARDS in 2007 for her work as Costume Designer
on THE LAST MAGIC SHOW.
