Duncan
Cole, Cinematographer
DUNCAN
COLE is an award-winning photographer and cinematographer.
His work crosses all disciplines within the two fields, being
sought after in New Zealand for advertising, editorial, documentary
and illustrative work for both moving and still images.
THE LAST MAGIC SHOW is Cole's second feature shot using digital
technology, the first being the psychological thriller FOR
GOOD (2003). Most recently, Cole was the cinematographer for
the digital film THE DEVIL DARED ME TO, an action comedy produced
by the New Zealand Film Commission supported HEADSTRONG scheme.
Cole is also one of the most prolific cinematographers for
the music industry, having worked as Director of Photography
on music videos for a wide range of artists, from CROWDED
HOUSE's TIM and NEIL FINN to BIC RUNGA, GOODSHIRT and BROOKE
FRASER.
Cole won the IMAGES AND SOUND BEST TECHNICAL CONTRIBUTION
TO A DIGITAL FEATURE award for his work as cinematographer
on THE LAST MAGIC SHOW at the 2007 AIR NEW ZEALAND FILM AND
TELEVISION AWARDS.

Luke
Fitzgerald, Composer
LUKE
FITZGERALD is a composer and instrumentalist born and bred
in Melbourne, Australia. After completing a Bachelor of Music
Performance (Improvisation) at the prestigious VICTORIAN COLLEGE
OF THE ARTS and an honours year at MONASH UNIVERSITY studying
music composition, he has spent recent years working as a
successful composer, producer, performer and arranger for
stage and screen as well as gigs with many bands and some
of Australia’s finest musicians. He also spent time
developing his composition skills during a mentorship with
Burkhardt Dalwitz, the award-winning composer of the soundtrack
to THE TRUMAN SHOW.
Recent
projects have included working as composer, arranger and performer
with the GREAT BIG SCIENCE GIG – a series of nationally
touring science cabaret shows written and performed in collaboration
with Australia’s CSIRO.
Fitzgerald
has very recently relocated to Auckland, New Zealand where
he has composed the soundtrack for the feature film THE LAST
MAGIC SHOW and the television comedy series JUNGLE FEVER 2
(Juice Television).

Kahra
Scott-James, Sound Designer
KAHRA SCOTT-JAMES is a fully qualified audio engineer (Masters
in Audio Production with full distinctions, UK) with a proven
track record in the international audio industry including experience
as a senior sound designer/mix engineer for US company BRILLIANT
DIGITAL ENTERTAINMENT.
She
also holds a Diploma in Audio Engineering (NZ), a Cert/Adv
in Film & Television Production (AUS) and a Certificate
in Journalism (NZ) plus has considerable working experience
in general media production.
Kahra teaches sound at the NEW ZEALAND FILM ACADEMY and produces/distributes
sound design samples and sound effects in the UK. She also
has international experience in teaching having lectured in
Ireland and Australia. Kahra is now developing specialised
audio training strengthened by the fact that she holds one
of the highest academic awards available internationally in
this field. Recently she did the sound design module on the
MEDIA DESIGN SCHOOL's Game Development Diploma in Auckland.

Alex
Lee, Producer
A
New Zealander of Asian ethnicity, Alex is an entertainment
lawyer by training. In 1990, he was a Writer/Presenter on
THE WORLD TODAY, a prime time nightly English language current
affairs programme screened on Asia TV in Hong Kong. He has
also produced and hosted radio programmes. In 2000-2001, Alex
produced/directed instructional videos for the INSTITUTE OF
PROFESSIONAL STUDIES based on re-enactments/depictions of
legal and court room practice.
In September 2004, he graduated with an MA of Creative &
Performing Arts (Film & Television Drama Directing) with
First Class Honours from the UNIVERSITY OF AUCKLAND.
With DAN SHANAN, Lee was the Producer and Co-Director of a
recent short documentary film MA-KARA AT MAKARA. MA-KARA AT
MAKARA was screened at the WARSAW INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL
in November 2004 and the JERUSALEM JEWISH FILM FESTIVAL in
December 2005. The film covers the desecration of Jewish graves
in Wellington and the community’s response to the same.
Alongside Shanan, Alex has been appointed New Zealand representative
and correspondent for Israel’s CHANNEL 10 TV.
